Chaplain - Mission to Seafarers

The Port Nelson Mission to Seafarers invites expressions of interest for the position of Chaplain.

The primary role of the Chaplain is to provide spiritual and pastoral care to the seafarers visiting Port Nelson. The Chaplain also provides leadership and co-ordinates the volunteers who assist in the mission and promotes the ministry of the mission throughout churches within the Nelson Diocese.

Chaplaincy can be the means of the church reaching out to people within our contemporary society, to minister and provide practical help in Jesus’ Name. We are looking for someone who has a heart for this kind of ministry.

If this ministry interests you, even if you may not feel fully qualified, please contact us. Options for further training or internships may also be a possibility for the right person.

This is a paid position for 10 hours a week initially, but could increase in time.
