Hills Community Church is an independent congregation covering the area between Tasman Village in the north, and Rabbit Island in the south. It includes Mapua Village and Upper Moutere. The church looks to the traditions and theology of the denominations that gave it birth – Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian and Baptist, and provides worship and teaching from all these traditions, and pastoral care for all.

Our Mission

The mission of Hills Community Church is to look outward into God�s world, and seek to serve people in love as our Lord Jesus Christ does. Every member is called to be involved in this mission.

 We are called to           

          proclaim the Good News of God�s reconciling love in Jesus Christ

          baptize and nurture those who come to faith

          respond to human needs with caring service

          work for the transformation of society according to the values of the Kingdom, and strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and to sustain and renew the life of the earth.

(The expression of this mission is taken from the report of the Anglican Communion Council at it�s 6th meeting in Nairobi.)

SPACE encompasses all we do, we as a Church are able to use our gifts to provide all forms of social activities within the Church and wider community, from movie nights to community meals, there are no boundaries. Our purpose is to have great time and space to be together.

Mapua Women�s Fellowship 

Wants to provide supportive friendship for a group of elderly Christian woman of various denominations�meetings on a monthly basis.

12�14 members of all ages (60�90+) meet in members home�hostess provides morning tea, organizes devotions program. There is no committee structure

Craft n Coffee

Meets Friday 10�12 AM in term time at Hills Community Church.

A cr�che is provided

A variety of crafts are shared including patchwork, mosaics, folk art, embroidery, card making, dolls, hypertuta pots, tile mirrors, Christmas decorations.

Join a friendly group of all ages for morning tea + creativity
